MYTH 02 / 05 · Injectables

“Hyaluronic acid is natural, so it is risk-free.”

A substance found in the body does not make an injection risk-free. The product, treatment area and procedure matter.

THE EXPLANATION

What is behind the claim.

Filler injections can cause swelling and bruising; infection or nodules are also possible. Rarely, a blocked blood vessel can damage tissue or threaten sight. “Natural” describes a substance’s origin, not a procedure’s safety.
