“Can overnight face tape replace Botox?”
The smoother morning look can be real. The promised Botox effect is a different claim.
„Face taping can make skin look temporarily smoother and therefore works like Botox.“
Partly trueAn editorially formulated question about a current public discussion.

THE ANSWER
What is true about it?
Partly true: a temporarily smoother appearance is possible. Adhesive tape acts mechanically on the skin; botulinum toxin affects signalling to muscles. The appearance after removing tape does not establish an equivalent or lasting wrinkle treatment.

The context behind the claim.
Convincing evidence is lacking for permanently “retraining” facial muscles or reliably preventing wrinkles long term. Lighting, camera angle and skin hydration can also influence before-and-after clips. Adhesive and repeated removal may irritate sensitive skin.
YOUR NEXT STEP
Making a more informed decision.
Distinguish a brief photographic effect from treatment intended to last longer. Stop if skin burns, becomes red or is injured, and seek medical advice when appropriate. Whether any cosmetic treatment is worthwhile depends on your goals and individual skin findings.
