“Scars can be removed completely.”

Scars can become less noticeable. Treatment does not guarantee that scar tissue becomes uninjured skin again.

THE EXPLANATION

What is behind the claim.

Many scars become flatter and paler over time; this can take two years or longer. Depending on scar type, options may include silicone products, injections, laser treatment or surgical revision. The goal is improvement, not a promise of unmarked skin.

CONTEXT & LIMITATIONS

What to take away.

Keloids, raised scars and depressed scars need different approaches. Realistic improvement requires an examination. Photographs of other people do not guarantee your result.
